Our final day of this beautiful journey took us to Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel Island. We spent time exploring the quaint town of Vila Franca do Campo where we stopped to have morning pastries. It’s an island with unique geological features which we experienced by visiting the fumaroles, hot springs, and bubbling mud pots. At Furnas we watched them using geothermal heat to cook our lunch!
