The Kimberley, Western Australia

The Kimberley, Western Australia

Orion's Expedition Team will lead your exploration of secluded beaches and river inlets - waters famous for an abundance of wildlife. From spectacular waterfalls and awe inspiring gorges, to ancient cultural history and indigenous rock art, the only way you can access the best of the Kimberley is from the sea onboard Orion. This itinerary has been enhanced to include complimentary flight seeing over the famous Bungle Bungle ranges.

Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea

Each day of this expedition will reveal yet another aspect to the wonderful cultural diversity of Papua New Guinea and the breathtaking scenery unique to this remote land. This is still a land of magic and spirits despite the best efforts of colonial missionaries over the centuries. A land of 800 languages, the cultural diversity will take your breath away. From volcanic tropical fjords and the flooded crater that is Rabaul's Simpson Harbour to pristine white sand beaches, the beauty of PNG is wonderfully varied.

Melanesia

Melanesia

Orion embarks an exploration of the South Pacific, through islands unspoilt by tourism. It will follow a unique itinerary, balancing authentic cultural experiences with comfortable luxury amenities and must-see sights with stops that no other cruise has access to. We'll visit remote islands settled as early as 25,000 BC by skull worshipping tribes. Today they are some of the most dive-friendly islands in the South Pacific, rich in fish and brightly-hued corals. Stroll pristine white sand beaches, soft underfoot, and climb the side of a still-active volcano for an unforgettable view.

Great Barrier Reef

Great Barrier Reef

Orion's exploration of the islands of tropical North Queensland will reveal the beauty of Australia's World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef, with ample opportunity for basking on white sandy beaches and snorkelling over vibrant corals teeming with tropical marine life.

Spice & Forgotten Islands

Spice & Forgotten Islands

Remote, exotic and aromatic, the Spice Islands evoke visions of 17th century Dutch explorers building a wealthy trading empire, far from their European home. The history of this region is as rich and pungent as the spices it produced. Explorers and world wars have traversed this isolated line of islands, and yet their culture remains unique and intact. Centuries of artisan's creations are expressed in colourful and unique artworks. Naturalists will marvel at the diversity of flora and fauna demarked by the Wallace Line. Further to the west, the pre-historic dragons of Komodo remind us how short our human history is.

New Zealand & sub-Antarctic Islands

New Zealand & sub-Antarctic Islands

Isolated, windswept, beautiful and fragile, New Zealand's sub-Antarctic islands are unique and irreplaceable, a privileged visit. Described by the United Nations Environment Program as "The most diverse and extensive of all sub-Antarctic archipelagos", all five island groups - the Bounty Islands, the Antipodes Islands, the Snares Islands, the Auckland Islands and Campbell Island - were honoured with World Heritage status in 1998. These locations are a birders and photographers paradise.

Antarctica

Antarctica

During the peak of the southern hemisphere summer, Orion offers travellers a unique opportunity to venture to the Continent of Antarctica. Orion sails from New Zealand crossing the Antarctic Circle to places redolent with history and adventure. Along the way the wildlife we encounter will astound you. The Sub-Antarctic islands are home to penguin breeding colonies numbering in the millions, to Elephant Seals and New Zealand Sea Lions, and the endangered Wandering Albatross.

Borneo

Borneo
